Lakewood Residence

This single family home separates itself from the rest due its unique spatial qualities. The main design challenge was providing a garage at grade level while still having a basement with generous ceiling height. Due to this condition the resulting first floor includes a living space with tall ceilings and a lofted kitchen space which opens out onto the roof of the garage. The change in level on the first floor generates separation of space while still maintaining an open floor plan.
