Goose Island Beer Co. Event Space

Goose Island Beer Company presented us with the opportunity to develop an event space within their existing barrel aging facility as a way to honor and display their unique aging process along with showcasing their expanding culinary offerings.  The goal was to create a space that remained loyal to the company’s brand identity while staying true to the building’s industrial roots.

We looked to pair the aesthetics of the existing warehouse with the refined process that goes into creating Goose Island’s barrel aged beers and expanding interest in food parings.  Historical references of Old Chicago warehouses and European wine cellars inspired the classic yet industrial material and furniture choices.

Numerous elements within the space, from wall and ceiling coverings, millwork, displays, bars and even the lighting were custom designed and crafted.  The showpiece of the space is the Cellar, boasting a barrel-vaulted tile ceiling and curved millwork display showcasing numerous barrel aged beers.
