Goose Island Beer Company presented us with the opportunity to develop an event space within their existing barrel aging facility as a way to honor and display their unique aging process. Our goal in the adaptive re-use of the warehouse was to maintain the client’s brand identity while staying true to the building’s industrial roots. We looked to pair the aesthetics of the existing warehouse with the refined process that goes into creating Goose Island’s barrel aged beers and the company’s expanding interest with food pairing. Historical references from old Chicago warehouses and European wine cellars inspired the material and furniture choices.
