WAKE ‘N BACON
As Chicago’s first CBD inspired restaurant, Wake ‘n Bacon took on a whimsical aesthetic to transport its diners into a fantasy outdoor garden. The clients were insistent the restaurant had to feel as if it were outdoors, to accommodate this floral accents were added throughout the space. A hanging “garden” floats above the center of the space and defines the central eating area.
Another key element to the design is the custom designed bar, which is where diners order their food. The overarching design concept for the bar was for it to be light and feel like a key point in the restaurant. To accomplish this the base of the bar is cladded in white breeze block which is then lit to illuminate the blocks. The blocks act as a structural element to the bar while maintaining a sense of levity.
